“An Omphalos” is an image-sound-text collaborative The Symbolic Object project released by One Imperative. The image, a diptych by Michael Kearney, is comprised of stone, mahogany, balsa wood, washi, Japanese construction paper, charcoal, pastels, oil paint, and acrylic paint on canvas. The album image is a portion of its right panel. The original English text, meant to engage, interact, entwine with the image element, was written by Jeremy Fernando. Midori Ioshii translated/interpreted Fernando’s text into Brazilian-Portuguese. Setsuko Adachi translated/interpreted Fernando’s text into Japanese and laid out the project. The soundscape portion of the project was composed by Michael Kearney.

The soundtrack was released on June 14, 2026
